My Favourite Date in Vancouver, BC

*& my partner’s favourite 🤍

Queen Elizabeth Park

It’s hard to try new date ideas in your city, I’m sure some of you are like me and you tend to do the same dates or let’s face it, rarely go on dates in general. But I’m a big believer in going on at least one date a week with my partner. It is actually proven (with data!) that it creates a longer-lasting relationship - I use this all the time when my boyfriend says he doesn’t feel like going out that week. We need this! We all do. Some one-on-one time to discuss more than the grocery list or feeding our dog. This time is also important that you both stay off your phones as long as possible, try to be in the moment, build your relationship by discussing how work is making you feel, or family and friends - try to go deeper than the surface level. AND try to have fun, make each other laugh, and build memories. This last part is super important, all too often our relationships get into this routine that's hard to break after years and years together - do something new and fun that allows for some laughs and memories to be made!

My favourite date in Vancouver, BC. It involves 3 activities:

Bloedel Conservatory Path
  1. Queen Elizabeth Park

  1. Bloedel Conservatory

  2. Food - Seasons in the Park

Here’s how to plan your date:

  • When driving put “Seasons in the Park” in your Google Maps and park in the valet. It costs $10 to park in public parking or $12.50 in valet so the convenience is definitely worth the extra $2.50.

    • Cost: $12.50

  • Walk to Queen Elizabeth Park for stunning views of Vancouver and beautiful gardens. If it’s a nice day make sure to visit the Rose garden on the other end of the park as well.

    • Cost: FREE

    • Vancouver’s horticultural jewel, is a major draw for floral display enthusiasts and view-seekers, and as a popular backdrop for wedding photosLearn more

  • Next, Bloedel Conservatory, which is my personal favourite. The climate in the dome is so comforting, it reminds me of Florida and tropical perfection, all in the heart of the park. We normally do 2 or 3 laps around to make sure we take in every plant, tree, bird, and even an odd mouse. Especially on the gloomiest of days - this space will lighten you right up!

    • Cost: $7.20/person

    • More than 100 exotic birds, and 500 exotic plants and flowers thrive within its temperature-controlled environment.” Learn more

  • Then finish off your day with the absolutely gorgeous restaurant Seasons in the Park - make sure to ask for the patio and near the fireplace. The views of the garden and downtown Vancouver is like no other. And the food is always excellent!

    • Cost: Typically under $100 - each getting a drink, one appetizer, and two dinners. This will of course increase if you both get steaks and a bottle of wine! But you can keep it cheaper if you try.
